My Top 250 Favorite Video Games (210-201)

210.)  HQ (2017) - iOS Developer: Intermedia Labs Publisher: Intermedia Labs Director: N/A In my life, I’ve been in to two “live” game show style video games. Both games made this list, HQ was the second of those games. I believe the game is still going, bought by another company, but my time with the game was the original run, with the host Scott Rogowsky. I didn’t ever win anything of any significance (I think a couple bucks here and there), but the prize wasn’t ever really the point. I love that appointment style gaming. Be here at this time, get trivia, win prizes. It’s a fantastic idea that I’m surprised doesn’t happen more often, though I assume it has to do with the prize money and/or associate with a brand that keeps it from happening more often. I would be in front of my iPhone every night during the height of HQ though, I even remember being on vacation in Walt Disney World, sitting in the lobby of the Polynesian Village Resort, with my wife and sister and the three...

My Top 250 Favorite Video Games (250-241)

So I messed up and left 10 games off my list of 250. These are actually 250-241. Have edited the other posts! 250.)  Bust-A-Move (1994) - Arcade Developer: Taito Publisher: Taito Director: N/A I almost always play this game when I see an arcade cabinet of it. I really enjoyed Bubble Bobble and I love this style of puzzle games, so really this was made for me. 249.) Until Dawn (2015) - PlayStation 4 Developer: Supermassive Games Publisher: Sony Computer Entertainment Director: Will Byles, Nik Bowen You know, I don’t know that this game ever hit the highs that a David Cage/Quantic Dream game hits for me, but I did really enjoy my playthrough of it. I love horror films and this basically touches all the different genres of them, while being an interactive version. I haven’t gone back to it to see how the cheese was made per se, are there different paths through the game, different killers etc., I assume not, but I’ll get around to playing it at some point. 248.)  Forza Moto...

Dark Souls III is Thinking of Ending Things

Image
This isn't my video or anything, but I found this bouncing around reddit the other day and thought this was a great look into Dark Souls III. I played through the Souls series in 2019 back-to-back-to-back, which was probably a mistake, but I hold this high as one of the better achievements I've made in gaming. Because of this, by the time I played through 3, in spite of it looking the best (interested in playing on my Series X now, especially to see if it runs better) of the the trilogy, I was ready to move on. Not to mention, this was all in the middle of losing my Dad and grandmother (and on the way to losing my mother in law and the rest of what 2020 was). Anyway, this video really made me want to revisit the series, which I sort of began the other day, starting Dark Souls 1 again. So many games to play, I probably won't commit to this (and I'm salty from making it all the way to the Taurus demon, suddenly forgetting the controls and dying) but man, do I love this ...

220.)  South Park: The Stick of Truth (2014) - PlayStation 3 Developer: Obsidian Entertainment   Publisher: Ubisoft Director: Chris Brion, Chris Parker, Zane Lyon South Park as a whole is kind of hit and miss for me. However, this game might be my favorite piece of South Park media ever. The jokes completely hit, the game is actually a really fun RPG. Obsidian is a pretty talented developer and the combination of them and Trey Parker and Matt Stone was just perfect. 219.) Kingdom Hearts (2002) - PlayStation 2 Developer: Square Publisher: Square ElectronicArts Director: Tetsuya Nomura This is another of those games I wish I had played more of. I will beat it eventually, I own the first two games and they’re all on Game Pass, they’re on the list, just need to get to them. This period of gaming history, my focus was on other things. Much of the PS2 era, I’m having to circle back around to. However, like I’ve said before, huge Disney fan and from what I’ve played (through Won...
