Disney Removing Magical Express and Extra Magic Hours

I love Walt Disney World. I mean my screenname comes from a WDW themed podcast. I've spent, almost half my life at this point researching the place and spending time with loved ones there. Some of my favorite moments of my life have taken place there. I completely agree with this article. I really like Lou Mongello, I love his passion and enthusiasm for the parks, but I watched his video and the way he was like, Well we need to look at this from Disney's perspective, no no no. The benefits and perks of staying on property at a Disney resort, soaking in the Disney magic from the moment you step off the plane. The ability to not have to go to baggage claim, to get on the bus, go to your resort and then hit the parks and your bags be waiting in your room when you get back, all of that added to the "Disney magic".

I was just listening to a Retro WDW podcast this week and was wishing there was a radio station, as there used to be, that you could tune in to about an hour away from the parks during a road trip that would feed into that magic, not unlike how on a Magical Express bus you get to watch videos to hype up your magic. So if it's a cost savings issue, suspend it. But to get rid of it, to ask the family of four or five to have to take an Uber, try to find an Uber with a carseat (not even mentioning how unhygienic this is in a post Covid-19 world) it's just super disappointing. I know I plan to take our daughter on her first trip at the end of 2022, thankfully we had already planned on getting a rental car, so this shouldn't effect us too much and we plan on staying at the Polynesian Resort, but man, Disney is just giving more and more reasons why staying off property might not be such a bad idea.
